RV Solar: Becoming a No Brainer

When I started installing solar on RVs it was not nearly as affordable as it is now and not as many people where aware it was available. I remember standing on the roof of an RV I was installing solar on in an RV storage facility and seeing just a few RVs with solar panels on them. However, today with the cost going down and efficiency going up it has become one of the best "bang for your buck" upgrades you can do on your RV.  I recently did an install in that same storage facility and saw dramatically more RVs with solar panels on the roof.  When you consider that you can both charge your batteries when in use and maintain your batteries when your rig is not in use for about the same cost as a descent generator but without the noise, fuel costs and maintenance you can see why it makes so much sense.  Along with the growing trend to camp off grid and not be restricted to campgrounds solar becomes even more practical and necessary.  I am now regularly installing solar and inverters systems that allow people to be completely independent of any other power source.  And it isn't terribly expensive to do so.
